Music Reviews - BUCK UP

“Buck Up,”... embraces a stronger country-Americana character and presents perseverance in plainspoken, encouraging terms. This track is refreshing as it acknowledges that life is difficult and treats resilience as the decision to remain receptive to possibility. - Skope Magazine

“Buck Up,” ...Rhythmic acoustic guitars swing against an infectious, bluesy beat as Samantha Starr Stefanik plants her feet on the ground for a song about getting up, moving on and stepping forward into a positive future. Bright-skied, sing-along vibes backlight a lyrical story of realising one’s inner strength while swimming through the thick of personal disaster; of giving up in fear and burn-out only for your faith to pull you back on track; of listening to the Lord’s message of acceptance, valour and hope. - The Ark of Music

‘Buck Up’ quickly settles into a cool and infectious blues groove, built around sparse acoustics and a gently galloping rhythm, establishing a clever forward momentum that carries the listener along. There is something deliberately uncomplicated about the arrangement. However, as we all know, making a song sound simple is a difficult trick, so don’t be deceived by the dexterity at work here. - Dancing About Architecture

Music Reviews - SWEET TOOTH

“Sweet Tooth” is a gently perceptive examination of the   emotions that can remain hidden beneath an apparently settled relationship.   Writing from a male perspective, Stefanik attempts to explore the emotional   hesitation of pursuing someone you love. It’s all about that awkward distance   between feeling something deeply and finding the courage to say it. The title   gives the song a playful romantic surface, but the underlying subject is more   vulnerable. Attraction becomes a kind of emotional craving, sweet but   difficult to ignore, while the narrator’s restraint suggests that love is   often communicated through implication long before it is expressed directly.   - Skope Magazine

“Sweet Tooth” rings out like a generation-defining Lana   Del Rey or Billie Eilish ballad; smooth operatic vocals capturing simmering   late-night, bleary-eyed moods, synth strings swelling beneath an ethereal   reverb-drenched piano which completely detaches listeners from reality. - The Ark of Music

‘Sweet Tooth’ inhabits an altogether more serene and   dreamlike space. Delicate piano drifts through an ambient backdrop of   shimmering sonics, creating a floating atmosphere, a drifting sentiment, a   sense of being suspended in time. - Dancing About Architecture

MUSIC AWARDS

FOR YOUR GRAMMY® CONSIDERATION

Following the warm reception of her debut EP Mama Said, singer-songwriter Samantha Starr Stefanik returns to this year's For Your Consideration (FYC) campaign with two compelling new recordings that showcase the continued evolution of one of New Jersey's most promising independent artists.

Known affectionately as Sammi to her family and friends, Samantha has earned recognition for her sincere songwriting, graceful vocal style, and emotionally rich performances. Blending elements of folk, Americana, country, and alternative music, she creates songs that connect with listeners through honest storytelling and genuine human emotion.

Released by Rosebud Lyrics & Rhythm Recordings LLC, Samantha's debut EP, Mama Said, introduced audiences to five original compositions that reflected her artistic vision and songwriting maturity. The project was submitted for GRAMMY® consideration during the previous awards season, including entries in Americana categories, helping introduce her music to a wider professional audience.

Now, Samantha builds upon that momentum with two new original singles submitted as part of this year's GRAMMY® For Your Consideration campaign.

Recorded at the acclaimed Raincat Recording Studio in Florida, "Sweet Tooth," released on June 21, 2026, explores the unspoken emotions that often exist beneath the surface of a relationship. Written from a man's perspective, the song offers an intimate and thoughtful interpretation of love, vulnerability, and communication.

In Samantha's own words:

"Some men feel everything... they just don't always know how to say it. So I wrote the words for them. 'Sweet Tooth' is a love song from his perspective—for every man who couldn't find the words, and every woman who wished he would."

Her second release, "Buck Up," released on July 21, 2026, embraces a spirited Americana sound infused with country influences. Driven by themes of resilience, hope, and perseverance, the song reminds listeners that life's greatest inspirations often arrive unexpectedly.

Reflecting on its creation, Samantha shares:

"Funny how songs find you. In the middle of an ordinary day, the opening lines of 'Buck Up' came into my mind. I wrote them down before they disappeared, thinking they were simply another lyric. Months later, those same words found their place as the heart of this song. It's a reminder that sometimes the most powerful things begin as the quietest moments."

Both recordings highlight Samantha's continued artistic growth while remaining true to the heartfelt songwriting that first introduced her to audiences. Her ability to seamlessly blend Americana, folk, country, and contemporary influences demonstrates an artist committed to authenticity rather than trends.

Before focusing exclusively on music, Samantha's creative journey began at an early age through television commercial auditions and film appearances, experiences that helped cultivate her natural ability to communicate emotion through performance. Today, that same expressive quality defines her work as a recording artist and songwriter.

As independent artists continue to shape today's musical landscape, Samantha Starr Stefanik stands among a new generation of singer-songwriters whose work is built upon sincerity, craftsmanship, and emotional connection. With Sweet Tooth and Buck Up, she continues to expand her artistic reach while inviting listeners into stories that are both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Her participation in this year's GRAMMY® For Your Consideration campaign represents another milestone in an already promising career—one marked by artistic integrity, thoughtful songwriting, and a dedication to creating music that leaves a lasting impression.

Apparently, I’ve always been a wild soul. I was three years old in this photo.  I wanted to go for a walk, and no one wanted to go with me—so I decided I’d go by myself. One of my family members came after me, camera in hand, and told me I couldn’t go alone.

This was my reaction to their “suggestion.” - Sammi ❤️
